Here are swallow baby birds in another nest. At this point the birds were about
to leave the nest. There are now three birds of three sizes. At this stage one of the
birds had died. Usually in a group of four baby birds, the smallest one will die before
the week is over. Of the surviving ones, the smallest one will be picked on by the
others and will get the least food. The smallest bird on the right side is barely
visible.The following pictures will show that nest when it had two recently born
baby birds and two eggs.
