Here the ladybug was on a stage one-quarter inch wide and six inches long. The stage was
placed on a slide and was moved to keep the ladybug in camera range. The ruler marks in
the back are one-eight inch apart. The closing of the wing covers and withdrawing of the
wings under the covers, starts as soon as the ladybug ends flight. The closing takes
2-4 seconds. Here the wing covers are closed and the wings are still in the process of
withdrawing under the covers.
Right:
The ladybug on a ball point pen. To get the ladybug on the stage, I first got her on the pen
and then placed the end of the pen on the stage. As she walked along the pen. looking for
a way off, she would walk on the stage. Her walking on the pen was also interesting. For
short periods, I managed to move the pen and keep the ladybug in camera range
