The mole cricket was never clearly visible. One night a red beetle came to the
burrow and immediately entered the burrow. After a couple of minutes it seemed
that the beetle was dragging out the mole cricket. Just about then the the mole
cricket would pull the beetle down the burrow. This happened several times,
until after several minutes neither the beetle or the mole cricket came up. Since
it seems the tug of war ended when the mole cricket pulled the beetle down, I
believe the mole cricket killed the beetle. This is contrary to expectations, since
the beetle is a predator of the mole cricket and the predator is expected to survive.
