These are snail trails across a sidewalk.  As the snail moves on it's "foot", slim from
it's foot drops off and forms a trail.  The trail is hard to see unless the light and
observer are at the proper angle. Mostly it is a now you see it, now you don't
situation. When the snail moves over very rough surfaces or surfaces with sharp
edges, large amounts of slim (mucus like) are left on the trail. I lightly traced the
trails with chalk so that the camera could reliably see the trail.   The snail's
