This is the dratted, dratted  I mean dreaded, rattler that will put chills down the spine
of most country boys!!!!  Actually the the snakes "rattles" to signal it's presence. Since
an animals (instinctive) action is for its benefit  I will make a guess as at what beneficial
outcome the snake has in mind, in saying hear this, here I am. Since the snake has
nothing to gain from  a confrontation and possibly something to loose, it opts for
"Here I am, I am warning you so that you will not accidentally trespass my territory,
you go your way and I will go my way". The logic is great when it encounters
in the animal world but not when it encounters man.
